NFL Season 2017 Week 17: Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, December 31, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Arizona Cardinals 26-24 which ended their 2017 regular season with a 9-7 record and did not qualify for the playoffs. The Seahawks needed to be more aggressive, despite being known as a “second half team”. The game was almost sealed by the end of the 2nd quarter with the Cardinals leading 20-7 but the Seahawks rallied by the 3rd quarter and almost won the game, but it was a little too late, and to add to the frustration had it not been for Phil Dawsons 42 yard field goal which stunned the crowd and allowed the Cardinals to clinch the victory in the dying minutes of the game.
Despite the loss, the Seahawks still had one awesome game and even broke some local records: Doug Baldwin passed Darrell Jackson for 4th on Seattle’s reception list. Jimmy Graham tied Green Bay receiver Davante Adams for 2nd most receiving touchdowns with 10. Shaquill Griffin finished the rookie season strong with 15 passes defended, ranks near top of NFC rookies. Russell Wilson is NFL’s leader in touchdown passes with 34. Doug Bladwin now 6th in Seattle’s touchdown list with 43.
NFL Season 2017 Week 16: Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, December 24, 4:25 PM, AT&T Stadium
The first point of the match was scored by the Dallas Cowboys, with a field goal from Dan Bailey, at 34 yards. It was a hectic start, but with not a whole lot of opportunities for either team, meaning that the field goal became the first point, in the middle of the 2nd. This did, however, open it up for the Cowboys, landing them another field goal late in the 2nd, also by Bailey, but this time from the 54 yards. This one was a bit more nerve-wracking than the last goal, and had viewers on the edge of their seats.
The kick was slightly off to the right, but in the end, the ball found the post, and further stumbled into the goal. With the Cowboys scoring the first points of the match, the Seahawks finally woke up, late in the 2nd, and with a touchdown by Graham, they had evened out the score. The Seahawks managed to get another point in in the 2nd before the Cowboys landed yet another field goal in the beginning of the 3rd. This success didn’t last long, however, with Coleman snatching another touchdown for the Seahawks. With the first few moments of the match dominated by the Cowboys, the Seahawks managed to claw their way back and secure them a 21-12 win.
NFL Season 2017 Week 15: Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, December 17, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Los Angeles Rams squared off against Seattle Seahawks in what was a vital game for both teams due to its post season implications. The Rams demonstrated a dominating performance in the field resting any questions about their playoff potential. This was Ram’s biggest postseason blowout 24-7 against Seattle Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks came into the game rather hopeful since they have won the division three of the last four years now and hence there was a little skepticism about the Rams 10-4. The Rams took advantage of the Seattle’s uncoordinated defense to fruster Russell Wilson and eventually win the game.
One of the most incredible performances of the match was by Todd Gurley who carried the ball 1152 yards and another interception in the third quarter that gave the Rams a 20-7lead. Gury averaged 7.2 yards per carry and is the second player in Rams history after Marshall Faulk. Thomas was a star in the game demonstrating great defensive plays for Seattle. At one point Thomas stripped the ball from Todd Gurley to kill Ram’s opening drive and intercepted a red Goff pass at midfield with just 6:02 left to play. Overall, the game was highly competed Rams came out victorious. We can only wait to see more from these teams.
NFL Season 2017 Week 14: Seattle Seahawks at Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, December 10, 1:00 PM, EverBank Field
A.J Bouye began to high-five spectators after running to the sideline and his 2nd interception. While everyone felt that Bouye is out of the game, his spirit revived and started creating wonders. Bouye took a leading position and start dancing for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the match against Seattle Seahawks, the Jaguars and Bouye had enough to be happy about. For touchdowns, Blake threw 2 amazing passes. With a seventy-two-yard punt return, Jaydon Mickens created another goal. This helped the Jaguars to defeat the Seattle Seahawks without further contest at 30-24.
This win has made the Jaguars stand the perfect position of claiming the first in the AFC South competitions. This has also helped the team to claim the victory ever since the 2007 season. Russell Wilson’s three passes were intercepted by the Jaguars. These interceptions also included 2 on deep balls. In the last 7 matches, this win has made the Jaguars to become victorious for six times. The Jaguars are now at the top for winning the game against the Seattle Seahawks and along with the loss of the Tennessee at Arizona. The Jaguars since 2010 has been able to maintain the first position late in a season.
NFL Season 2017 Week 13: Seattle Seahawks vs Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, December 03, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
Philadelphia Eagles visited Seattle Seahawks where they were beaten 24-10 by the hosts in a thrilling NFL game that took place recently. Unlike their previous games were Seahawks usually start poorly but gain momentum in the second half, this one was different. From the beginning, they were strong in the offense, and although they faced a tough challenge form the Philadelphia side, they maintained that momentum to emerge winners. One of the two early catches on the Seattle side led to a touchdown and that played a role in their early lead. Others came from two scores out of four possessions in the first half.
The remarkable field goal and touchdown that gave Seattle a 10-0 lead in the first quarter came from an intense possession struggle and great passes. This team coordination saw to it that the hosts maintained their lead into the second half to finish on top. Although the Eagles have one of the best defense teams in the league and were expected to emerge winners, Seahawks proved to be the better team in that match. From the way their hosts played previously, the Eagles expected to capitalize on their defense but that became harder when their opponents changed their tactics, which some people attributed to their loss.
NFL Season 2017 Week 12: Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, November 26, 4:05 PM, Levis Stadium
When Seattle Seahawks crushed the San Francisco 49ers, QB Russell Wilson and the team’s five offensive linemen made a play for all 67 offensive snaps. This game marked the first time Ethan Pocic played as a right guard and also the first time Duane Brown played alongside Luke Joeckel. This was the first time that Wilson impressed in a game since 2015. Yes, he has been sucking at it!
Eddie Lacy made one of the largest workloads of this season, playing 52 percent of the snaps. Thomas Rawls made a play of one snap while J.D. McKissic played 43 percent only and got a start at running back.
Paul Richardson was the best Seattle receiver in this game making 84 percent play time. Doug Baldwin, Tyler Locket, and Tanner McEvoy made 79 percent, 69 percent, and 9 percent respectively. In spite of Tanner McEvoy playing only nine snaps, he caught two passes for 31 yards. He also made a 24-yarder that assisted to set up a touchdown in the third quarter.
NFL Season 2017 Week 11: Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons on Monday, November 20, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Falcons vs. Seahawks game was also equally interesting, though Falcons managed to pull off a late rally to win against Seattle 34-31 in a hotly contested game. Matt Ryan’s pair of touchdown throws were enough to hold off their opponents and win the match. With the win, Atlanta are now firmly in position for an NFC playoff spot thanks to their second straight victory, while on the other hand Seattle have suffered their second successive home loss. Ryan threw touch downs to Levine Toilolo and Mohamed Sanu, while Coleman added another 1-yard touchdown sprint on Atlanta’s opening possession. The game was first broken open by Clayborn’s fumble return in the 2nd quarter, which gave Atlanta a decisive 21-7 lead.
Seahawks defense also had an opportunity to bail out Wilson, but accidentally dropped a pick on the goal-line. They didn’t get any other chance since Mohamed Sanu came down following a Beckham-esque touchdown. Right from the start of the game, it was clear that Falcons were the better side having scored 14-0 by the first quarter and making the field go peculiarly silent. Though Seattle attempted a late come back later in the game, after being behind 11 points, they couldn’t manage a score after Blair Walsh’s 52-yard attempt in the closing moments came up short. Atlanta Falcons are optimistic that they will continue with their winning streak for future games.
NFL Season 2017 Week 10: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, November 09, 8:25 PM, University of Phoenix Stadium
Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals was much fun and you just have to know more about it. The Seahawks beat the Cardinals with a 16-22 score, and that was just amazing. Mr. Wilson led the team to the victory on Thursday night, which is truly great for him. He has been working hard to make things happen and he deserves every bit of the victory. Mr. Sherman just limped off the game with his Achilles tendon ruptured. He was just part of the players who were just knocked out of the game by the Cardinals.
Mr. Wagner said that this was a good team win. He wanted to appreciate the game even more. But the problem is that he saw a lot of other players going down the drain with many serious and minor injuries. This is a shame for the team because they need these players to keep the winning streak alive. Players don’t love any kind of Thursday night football but they have to do it anyway. They were hit by many injuries, and this is an example of the things happening here. It is truly hard to get back and recover too.
NFL Season 2017 Week 9: Seattle Seahawks vs Washington Redskins on Sunday, November 05, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
Any rally that Russell Wilson anticipated offering was toppled by the comeback of Kirk Cousins. This helped to bring some energy on the side of the Washington that was moving in a spiral world of problems. In thirty-five seconds, Kirk was able to advance Washington for seventy yards. In one yard touchdown, Rob Kelley was able to cap the run with only less than a minute to end the game. As the game progress, the Washington worked hard late to win against the Seattle Seahawks by 17-14. With 1:34 minutes remaining, Seattle took the lead with a 14-10.
This occurred when Russell Wilson was able to locate Doug for a thirty-yard touchdown pass. The Seahawks struggle with the offense for the day without getting more positive results. The answer was right in the game plan of Kirk after taking over at the thirty-yard line. On consecutive throws, Kirk was able to strike Josh Doctson for thirty-eight and Brian Quick for thirty-one yards to move toward the Seattle with only 1:02 minutes remaining. Down the sideline, Doctson was able to defeat rookie Griffin and orchestrated an amazing diving catch. On the next play, Kelley was able to make his way in for another touchdown.
NFL Season 2017 Week 8: Seattle Seahawks vs Houston Texans on Sunday, October 29, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
In a tightly contested match, a touchdown made with 21 seconds on the clock turned the tables and the game ended 41-38 in favor of Seattle Seahawks who were playing against the Houston Texans. This is Seattle’s fifth win this season and their score stands at 5-2. With 1:39 left on the clock, Seattle was down 38-34 and had no more timeouts. Russell Wilson, their quarterback, led the journey to the winning touchdown with 80 yards and then Paul Richardson ran 48 yards before giving the ball to Tyler Lockett who made the winning TD. With both teams having started off with fierce competition the entire field was filled with tension as that finals score came through. Wilson ended the game with 26 of 41, 4562 yards and 4 touchdowns which is his personal best. The Houston Texans, quarterback, Deshaun Watson proved to be worthy competition.
He finished with 402 yards and 4 touchdowns. He however was intercepted by Richard Sherman as he attempted to salvage his team’s glory with 7secinds left. Watson became the first rookie to throw at least three touchdown passes in 4 consecutive games. In his first seven games, he has 19 touchdown passes which is the most any rookie has ever scored in the first 7 games. He set an NFL record as being the first player to have 50 rushing yards, 400 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns in a game.
NFL Season 2017 Week 7: Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants on Sunday, October 22, 4:25 PM, MetLife Stadium
Ending in a victory for the Seahawks, the game involving the New York Giants had a lot of other highlights worth remembering. The match started shakily for the Seahawks who were behind by 7-3 points until the second quarter but they managed to gain control after that half when they scored a 22 yard pass. This put them in the lead instantly and they went ahead to stay in that position until the end, with the game ending 24-7 in favor of the Seahawks.
The gap in the points increased in the fourth quarter when one of the player Wilson launched a 38 yard pass. This was received by Richardson and Landon Collins who both leapt at the same time. This created a standoff because even though Richardson touched the ball first, Collins wrestled for it as they both came down. It was ruled as a tie and as such went in favor of the offense giving them the advantageous gap of 17-7. The Giants put up a good fight managing a total of 177 yards with the longest being 57. Among the first downs they got, 6 were a result of penalization of the Seahawks. Still, they tried their best but the offense proved to be too much thus one of the biggest losses for the Giants.

In addition, Seattle Seahawks was placed fourth in the table while Los Angeles Rams on 8th place.
NFL Season 2017 Week 4: Seattle Seahawks vs Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, October 01, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
As the Indianapolis Colts met the Seattle Seahawks this week, fans from each franchise wondered how their team would perform. Both teams have not had the greatest start to the season, as each entered the game with a 1-2 record. Seattle’s offense struggled in the first half managing on 3 points. The Seahawks other first half score came on a 27 yard interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Colts, on the other hand, had a better first half showing scoring 2 offensive touchdowns and a defensive safety which gave them a 15-10 lead at half time.
There must have been one very good pep talk in the Seahawks locker room, because they came into the second half as a completely different team. Russell Wilson sparked the lagging Seahawk offense with a 23 yard touchdown run followed by two touchdown passes. The defense chipped in with another score on a fumble return for a touchdown. The defense also came into the second half playing like a different team. They stifled the Colts offense completely shutting down both their passing and rushing attacks. For the entire second half, they limited the Colts to a single Adam Vinatieri field goal. The blowout puts the Seahawks at 2-2 for the season and drops the Colts to a dismal 1-3.
NFL Season 2017 Week 3: Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans on Sunday, September 24, 4:05 PM, Nissan Stadium
The Tennessee Titans came out on top against the Seattle Seahawks by beating them 33-27. This loss meant that the Seahawks now has a record of one to two so far this season with both their losses coming away from home. Pete Carroll and his entire coaching staff seemed lost for most parts of the game. Russell Wilson had an extremely bizarre afternoon to say the least. His poor performance in the early stages of the game was something to worry about, however, he got his rhythm in the 2nd half of the game and passed for 373 yards which happened to be a career high by the end of the game.
At some point early on in the game it seemed as though Germain Ifedi was completely incapable of effectively containing Derrick Morgan. He seemed to be loosing all his individual battles between him and his marker, however, as the game went on the offensive line slowly began to gather their feet and get into the game. Their line play gradually improved dramatically as the game progressed. They started giving Wilson enough time to throw and finally began playing at the level they consistently need to be at in order to win games more often. They still, however, have a lot more to improve on.
NFL Season 2017 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, September 17, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The match was between San Francisco 49ers against Seattle Seahawks, which was played at CenturyLink Field kicked off at exactly 1:25 PM. Before this time, the fans were already seated and settled, waiting for the kickoff time for the match. The ticketing of these fans was being processed by TicketCity, which has been selling tickets for all NFL fans for the last 20 years. This was the week two for the NFL game schedule.
The two teams combined had 14 quarters without a touchdown in this season, until the Seahawks finally made it. Russell Wilson who was playing for Seattle Seahawks, was the man of the match as he made the San Francisco players go through a bit of hell inside the field. Wilson was both erratic and magical throughout the game. He was 23 of 39 passing for 198 yards. He then rushed for another 34 yards.
Unfortunately one of the Seattle Seahawks players had a dislocated right ring finger in the first quarter of the game. The player by the name Richardson had his finger put back into place and he got back into play and enabled the Seattle Seahawks to overcome the San Francisco 49ers.
The game ended with San Francisco 49ers at 9 while Seattle Seahawks won with 12. The San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan was completely disappointed with the outcome of the match since he never expected that he would be defeated by the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL Season 2017 Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers on Sunday, September 10, 4:25 PM, Lambeau Field
The Green Bay Packer’s defense stole the hype following a strong show case against the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers battled it out with Seattle to emerge winners in a 17-9 win. Aaron Rodgers was superb, throwing for 311 yards for a touchdown. Ty Montgomery recouped the Green Bay Packer’s backfield after a summer’s doubt of his capability. The Packers had seen earlier last season a Rodgers-led offense was successful with or without a lot of running game. Mike Daniels was a drive from the start; he found another force in the third quarter. Mike and Nick Perry hooked up to down Wilson 10 yards from the line; also they dropped Wilson on his two plays.
The third quarter saw the game hinge on a particular pattern, as the Packer’s defense knocked Wilson to bit deep into Seahawks territory, then claimed the ball back. Daniels pounded the ball loose after seeing Packers lineman Luke Joeckel, forcing to handle and setting up a dashing touchdown that had the Packers on the board. Wilson’s rush is a game changing player, but could not be compared to a strong Packers front. He ended the game with a 69.7 quarter back rating worst rating in his career. After a throw for 158 yards and just 51.9 percent complete passes.
NFL Preseason 2017 Week 4: Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders on Thursday, August 31, 10:00 PM, Oakland Coliseum
The Seattle Seahawks beat the Oakland Raiders 17-13 on Thursday night O.co Coliseum, Oakland, California. The Raiders managed to play some solid defense during the first half. They forces two interceptions on Seahawks’ quarterback Trevone Boykin after piling some pressure up front. Rookie Shalom Luani managed to read Boykin’s overthrow pass to make an interception. Cornerback Breon Borders and lineback Nicholas Morrow, also rookies, were responsible for the second intercept.
All in all, the Raiders seemed to struggle in terms of offense. Running back John Crockett fumbled on the team’s opening drive, a situation that led in a Seahawks field goal. George Atkinson, another running back, fumbled in a way that no clear recovery was seen. The Raiders tied the game at 10 points each in the third quarter after Giorgio Tavecchio scored a 34-yard field goal. They had a chance to take the lead towards the end of the third quarter. However, Tavecchio missed his next attempt. The Seahawks struggled to move the ball as soon as Austin Davis, a backup quarterback, got into the game. Seattle went into the 2017 NFL pre-season with a perfect 4-0, while Oakland went 0-4. It will interesting to see how the Raiders will manage in the regular season. Their fans must be very disappointed and will hope that the coach makes some drastic changes to the team between now and the next game.
NFL Preseason 2017 Week 3: Seattle Seahawks vs Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, August 25, 8:00 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Seahawks actually managed to improve the 3-0 preseason win with 26-13 victory over Kansas City Chiefs. This game saw many of the starters for both sides play into the 2nd half, which is actually their longest run this preseason. From the game there were some few facts noted about the starters.
For one Russell Wilson is almost ready to play in the regular season, after playing the entire 1st half & a series into the 2nd half. Russell managed 13-of-19 attempts of 200yards, no interception and a touch down which gave him an offence of 5 and rating of 120.5.
With the numerous concerns about the Seahawks’s offensive-line after George Fant’s knee injury, many people expected them to be easily penetrable. But that was not the case since they 1st team held up the line perfectly. Rees odhiambo who replaced Fant did not disappoint. He managed to keep Russell clean and he definitely has the push especially in the running game. In fact for this preseason, Russell is 29-for-41 for 447 yards, no interception and 3 touchdowns. But we do expect much more from him in the coming season and Odhiambo might have just cemented his position with the Seahawks.
NFL Preseason 2017 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings on Friday, August 18, 10:00 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 20-13 in Seattle in the second preseason game for both teams. The Seahawks opened the scoring in the first quarter, with quarterback Russell Wilson hooking up with wide receiver Kasen Williams for a 1 yard touchdown. Minnesota answered back with a Marshall Koehn field goal to make the game 7-3. In the second quarter, Seattle extended their lead to 14-3 when Russell Wilson found running back Mike Davis for a 22 yard touchdown reception. Minnesota added another field goal, this time kicked by Kai Forbath, to end the half with Seattle up 14-6.
During the third quarter, Minnesota struggled to move the football, while Seattle added a pair of Blair Walsh field goals to increase their advantage to 20-6. Walsh had been the Vikings’ kicker for the last 5 seasons before this one, and pointed at his old team’s bench after making the two long field goals. Minnesota’s undrafted rookie quarterback Taylor Heinicke was intercepted by Seattle’s rookie safety Tedrick Thompson. In the fourth quarter, Minnesota drew closer thanks to a connection between Taylor Heinicke and rookie wideout Bucky Hodge, whose 22 yard touchdown reception brought the Vikings to within 7 points of the Seahawks. However, Seattle managed to kill the rest of the clock and won the game by the score of 20-13.
NFL Preseason 2017 Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, August 13, 8:00 PM, StubHub Center
The Seahawks really humiliated the Los Angeles Chargers. 48-17! This first game at StuHub didn’t augur well for the Chargers. No fan will ever forget the poor decisions that marked the play. They only have to long for the next game. Some however still shined. Phillip Rivers managed to deliver balls with good accuracy. Though greatly tackled, he throughout remained upright. Desmond King played really well, and was just all over the field. He is proving what the Chargers opinion of him was when they selected him.
Damion Square shined on Boykin and almost missed a sack, but was rescued by Tenny Palepoi. Damion has begun to stand out as a reliable defensive liner. The most evident losers were the backup quarterbacks of the Los Angeles Charger. I dare call it terrible. Travis Benjamin and Kellen Clemens were both brutal in play. Also Cardale Jones proved no better. Mike Bercovici came in late but also didn’t have much to offer. Denzel Perryman suffered ankle injury and thus has been suspended for a whole 6 weeks.
Both Chris Hairston and Tyreek Burwell played poorly. Seattle’s ends were much pressured almost throughout the game. Andre Williams also didn’t impress by his playing. Michael Davis was attacked constantly by the Seahawks and could not counterattack. This will sure keep him on his toes for the rest of the preseason.
Seattle Seahawks NFL season 2016 recap
The Seattle Seahawks, known for their dexterity, dynamic and preciseness, had not an entirely easy season, without any policy scandals on the horison, they have displayed an air of wanting to perform rather than execute the brilliant craftsmanship they’re so well known for, which was though captivating, at times also off putting. Paul Richardson defeat to the Atlanta Falcons in Seattle’s divisional round play off, proves the point, which was further exemplified in Thomas Rawl’s speech, ‘it’s all about staying focused’.
Though in regards to a different game Thomas went away from his loss with a sense of the positive, looking brightly towards the future, saying; ‘I came off happy off the meadow, a small bit for the reason that I was clever to walk off the field, – I felt I was allowed to carry on to grow plus continue to go forward in my vocation plus look at amazing else to labor on and focus on so far.’ Now if Paul, had that same attitude we would be sure to see him in a play off in the near future. When it comes to Rawls, I have seldom seen a player with such mental stamina. Rawl’s first two seasons with the Hawks were a sportsman’s nightmare, but Rawls always survives so far.
NFL Season 2016 Divisional Playoffs: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons on Saturday, January 14, 4:35 PM, Georgia Dome
Atlanta Falcons defeated their bitter rivals the Seattle Seahawks whom they had defeated (in October) in a controversial match between the two that ended 26-24. Matt Ryan was certainly pleased after the game as he made three solid touchdowns and threw for 338 yards, letting his team thrash Seattle Seahawks 36-20. This win means that Atlanta will now face either Green Bay Packers or Dallas Cowboys in the next round.
At the beginning, the Seahawks looked sturdy, touch and ready to conquer, but the Russel Wilson and other defenders defended their hats off. Devin Hester, the Seahawks wide receiver made an 80-yard punt, a chance the Falcons used to counterattack.
Ryan’s teamwork with Julio Jones sealed the Seahawks’ fate as they made a 7-yard touchdown. Tevin Coleman made use of a killer pass from Ryan by scoring from 14 yards before making a 3-yard toss that saw the crowd chant MVP! MVP!
Jones was excellent in the first half and the second half and made six critical receptions for 67 yards. These great receptions set the pace for Atlanta which saw them take advantage of their home ground. After this strong win, the Falcons for the 4th time in their 51-year NFL history will both for the conference title and for a position in the Super Bowl.
NFL Season 2016 Wild Card Weekend: Seattle Seahawks vs Detroit Lions on Saturday, January 07, 8:15 PM, CenturyLink Field
Many sports fans were wondering whether this would be the year when the Lions would be able to end their playoff losing streak, though the Seahawks were still favored to win.
There were multiple things that worked together in order to bring the Seahawks to victory including phenomenal catches, a strong defense, and great throws from Russell Wilson. Thomas Rawls brought life into the crowd, as he was able to break the playoff record for rushing yards as he climbed the ladder to add a 161 total to his stats. Paul Richardson even made a catch that was one of the most notable of the season, helping to bring his team to a 26-6 victory.
The Lions have yet to see a postseason victory since 1992 and this was the 10th straight playoff game that Seattle was able to win at home. Unlike his regular performance this season, Thomas Rawls brought his running game to the field with runs ranging from 12 to 32 yards. One of the main issues the Lions faced were a numerous amount of dropped passes and penalties.
With this win in their pocket, the Seattle Seahawks are now off to face the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta and it’ll be exciting to see where both teams finish.
NFL Season 2016 Week 17: Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, January 01, 4:25 PM, Levis Stadium
The Seattle Seahawks came into Sunday’s game as favorites (9-5-1), but the tables nearly turned, as San Francisco 49ers (2-13), who entered the game in 29th position for total offence, gave them a real run for their money.
For their opening possession, the 49ers fumbled, but for the next two attempts, the story was far from the same, as they navigated 75 and 80 yards, to take a shocking 14-3 lead. Although the Seahawks were able to stop the 49ers for the next 7 straight plays, the 49ers were still able to squeeze out another touchdown, to make the game even more exciting.
The major turning point that brought favour to the side of the Seahawks, came in the two middle quarters, as the resolute defensive efforts kept the 49ers at bay, while affording more room for Seahawks’ attack. Bobby Wagner played an important role in that solid defense, with 12 tackles, a defensed pass, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
The Seahawks eventually began putting major points on the board including a second-quarter touchdown, from a 42-yard pass caught by Jimmy Graham. Luke Wilson also enjoyed 3 catches, which included a touchdown reception of 11 yards. Brandon Williams was also not left out of the action, as he pulled off a 20-yard catch with a scintillating diving effort on the sideline.
However, the Seahawks still have some serious work to do, if they will succeed in improving their form and record substantially, but a win against the 49ers is a step in the right direction.
NFL Season 2016 Week 16: Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, December 24, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
Who knew Seattle Seahawks would suffer a 34-31 demolition in the final seconds against their opponent Arizona Cardinals? Yes, it happened, even after their thrilling comeback attempt. Unfortunately, this is not their firs time defeat.
The Cardinals have proved their capability by continually giving Seahawks headaches on their ground. This time, it is unfortunate to the Seahawks; it might even end up costing them to face the firsthand bye, just in the playoffs.
Chandler Catanzaro’s 43-yard hit goal, jus at the final play assured the Cardinals of the victory on Saturday. Seattle paced their way from a 31-18 deficit, by scoring the rare two touchdowns just in the final three minutes to make it 31-31. The Jimmy Graham’s 37-yard touchdown and a Richardson’s 5-yard ensured the tie.
Unfortunately, Stephen Hauschka missed his chance to make an extra point that could have made Seahawk to take the lead. The Catanzaro’s kick was perfect. It gave that unexpected menace to the Seattle’s chances of emerging victorious in the game. This was not only sad but also unforgotten experience as it was Seahawk’s first loss at home this season. Unfortunately, this sealed the seal of all NFL teams being beaten at home. The Seattle Seahawks had the potential to remain unbeaten, but they had no choice on this game.
NFL Season 2016 Week 15: Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, December 15, 8:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The game between Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams held on 15th December 2016 was a he win for the Seahawks. The couch Pete Carroll was especially proud of the of the win because of what t meant in the play offs. The Seahawks are the first to get its division mostly because of playing in NFC West were there are no strong teams. Russell Wilson made one score and three touchdown passes over the last four games. Jared Goff, who replaced Jeff Fisher, is a fresh quarterback and needs more experienced for the sake of the Seahawks defense.
The game ended in a 3-24 win for Seattle which was much needed after the game they had with Green Bag. The Rams can blame their first timer coach in NFL in his career. The win was unexpected since the Rams usually play better than how they fared last Thursday. The Rams also had a poor defense strategy which left the back wide open for a score to go through. There are speculations on what will happen next because the Rams have also lost three games in a row.
NFL Season 2016 Week 14: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers on Sunday, December 11, 4:25 PM, Lambeau Field
The game got underway Sunday afternoon; The Packers would receive the ball, Rodgers set the tone on the opening drive after connecting with receiver D. Adams on a greatly thrown pass down the right sideline for a touchdown at the 66-yard. The Corner-back J. Lane slipped on the play. A. Rodgers passed for 246- yards and 3 touchdowns and the Packers routed the Seahawks 38-10 win.
The first score of the game from the Seattle Seahawks came in the twenty eight yard field goal by Hauschka with a few minutes left in the 1st quarter.
Another field goal attempt by Packers’ M. Crosby did not go through. The Packers however, led 7-3 with about 2 minutes to end the first half.
Rodgers, who was already injured playing on the left hamstring, finished eighteen of twenty three and left in the 4th quarter with his team leading by twenty five. The Green Bay Packers team took advantage with touchdown drives after two other interceptions.
Wilson finished twenty two of thirty nine for 240-yards and a touchdown. The 2 capture attempts fell off passes that diverted off receivers’ hands, including one that caromed off the helmet of D. Baldwin’s to corner-back D. Randall.
NFL Season 2016 Week 13: Seattle Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers on Sunday, December 04, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
Carolina Panthers were totally embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday by being hammered 40-7. This was a must win game for the panthers but they were totally outcompeted by the Seahawks. In fact, the Carolina Panthers have fallen very far behind with regard to the playoff.
The Panthers fell 23-7 at half time. This completely erased any signs of an unlikely comeback. Seahawks Tyler Lockett (wide receiver) outran the Carolina defense before making a 75-yard touchdown. That put the score line at 30-7.
With four games remaining to the end of the season Carolina Panthers find themselves trailing the Tampa Bay and Falcons by three games in NFC south. Technically, the Panthers are not out of the playoffs. It is hard to imagine how the Carolina Panthers lost this match bearing in mind that they beat Seattle Seahawks 31-24 in January. But that’s it, they lost terribly on Sunday.
Notably, Cam Newton did not start in the game for what is understood to be a violation of the Carolina Panthers dressing code. He is said to not have won a tie on their way to Seattle. Things are thick for Carolina at the moment.
NFL Season 2016 Week 12: Seattle Seahawks at Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, November 27, 4:05 PM, Raymond James Stadium
In the NFL match that held in Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida, between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks, Buccaneers won Seahawks 14-5. It all began with a landing pass between Jameis Winston and Mike Evans. Tampa Bay forced three turnovers and rejuvenated its defense by shutting down Seahawks’ Wilson, thereby making it very difficult for Seahawks’ troops to get through. In the final minute of the opening half, Wilson drove his team to the field-goal range but Verner, Tampa Bay’s cornerback, successfully stopped the Seattle Seahawks.
Verner had lost his biggest fan, his father last Friday, but knowing that his father’s greatest desire was for him to play in the game, he did not hold back. Buccaneers win can be largely attributed to Verner in the game; he was indeed the cornerstone of the game. Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawk are two champions that have interesting histories of play in the NFL, winning each other back to back. The last match was held in 2013 in Seattle. It only serves right that Bucs won this season’s match since it is played in their home.
NFL Season 2016 Week 11: Seattle Seahawks vs Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, November 20, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Seahawks won 26-15 vs Philadelphia Eagles. It was a rare victory for Seattle Seahawks this season against a very good defense by the Philadelphia Eagles’. The turnover battle was again won by the Seahawks thanks to interceptions by Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman. After some surprisingly bad weeks on third-down, the Eagles were held down by the Seahawks to a 6-for-16 (38%) conversion rate.
Both the teams had to face multiple injuries. A hamstring injury forced cornerback DeShawn Shed to leave the game early and so did Earl Thomas in the third quarter. The Eagles’ top two running backs Darren Sproles and Ryan Matthews had to deal with injuries along with a few others and leave the game early. Apart from the injurie, it was a perfect day for Seattle on special teams, but yet, they missed a field goal and one extra point was blocked for the 11th time in the day. A 19-yard punt return by Tyler Lockett helped in setting up a field goal. Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise were impressive as a duo.
Regularly seeking out contact in the second level and delivering big hits to Eagles defenders, Rawls went for 57 yards on 14 carries and added 31 receiving yards. While still being a rookie, C.J. Prosise rushed for 76 yards on just four careers including a 72-yard touchdown.
NFL Season 2016 Week 10: Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots on Sunday, November 13, 8:30 PM, Gillette Stadium
Sunday night saw the Seattle Seahawks come from behind to beat the New England Patriots at the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts. The win was as emphatic as they come with a 31-24 final score. The smart and well calculated moves by the Seattle Seahawks put their opponents in constant pressure especially through their player Wilson Russel who was quite instrumental. Wilson contribution at the end of first half when he masterminded a two-minute drive that led to a late score for the Seattle was maybe the turning point of the game.
Their defense on the day was also as effective as their attack. They closed down spaces countering the Patriots plays and this created problems for players such as Tom Brady. Brady who has had a good run of games was most ineffective on Sunday though this maybe not be down to his ability but to the way Seattle defended. At the end of the day he had a passer rating below 100 his lowest so far. The Patriots could have a salvaged a point being in Seattle’s 2-yard line with 60 secs to time only for them to blow the chance. With that last minute failure Seattle got their much deserved win.
NFL Season 2016 Week 9: Seattle Seahawks vs Buffalo Bills on Monday, November 07, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
Buffalo Bills faced off against the Seattle Seahawks in what was rather a highly competed match. One outstanding moment was Jimmy Graham making his first one handed catch; however his second one was even better. Graham used one hand in catching two first-half touchdown passes from Russell Wilson. The Seattle Seahawks celebrated their 31-25 win over the Buffalo Bills in a Monday night rally. This was Seattle’s 11th Monday night game win. Buffalo Bills are a strong team and they did not make it easy for the Seahawks to win. Tough Graham had been removed after suffering a major knee injury, he demonstrated an outstanding performance.
Were it not for mistakes by the officiating crew, the Bills would not have needed a touchdown at the end of the first half that ended up costing the Bills an opportunity at a shorter field goal. To make matters even worse, Dan Carpenter missed a 54-yard attempt during the final play. However, Richard Sherman of Seattle got away with a roughness penalty that was unnecessary and only delayed the game. Both teams were very competitive but ultimately the better prepared team won.
NFL Season 2016 Week 8: Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 30, 12:00 PM, Mercedes-Benz Superdome
Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints on Sunday almost pulled off a rally. This did not happen since Jermaine Kearse’s possibility to win ruled out by the expiry of time which saw Seahawks lose the game by 25-20 to the Saints. The Saints recorded an improvement from 3 to while Seahawks dropped from 4 to 2 then to 1.
Seattle quarterback Russell struggling in less than two minutes to play drove the Seahawks down in the game on the final drive. As stated by Doug Baldwin’s 27-yard it was a simple catch-and-run very fast into the Saints territory with only sixteen seconds remaining. Wilson passed a long straight pass to C.J Prosise who was at the 8-yard line. Unfortunately, the time Wilson spiked the ball only 2 seconds were remaining. This gave the Seahawks one final attempt.
The Seahawks drop (4-1-1) left Arizona with a clean tie. Under Coach Pete Carroll, Arizona now continues to lead the NFC West. The Saints come in the position three after their previous win over Seahawks (2-4) in the NFL. They now have a total score of 29.3, but the league may allow a worst of 32.5 points a game.
NFL Season 2016 Week 7: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, October 23, 8:30 PM, University of Phoenix Stadium
With a somewhat confusing, unusual and even aggravating ending, the Seahawks and the Cardinals ended their October 23, 2016 game with a tie. Ending with a final score of 6 to 6 the game was truly a game of defense and field goals with special teams ultimately defining the game. The Cardinals were able to score first in the second quarter with a field goal making the score 3 to 0. The Seahawks finally answered with a field goal in the fourth quarter tying the game 3 to 3. By the end of the fourth quarter with no additional points on the board, the game entered overtime.
Each team scored an additional 3 points keeping the scored tied at 6 to 6. Both the Seahawks and the Cardinals had the chance to win the game but both came up short missing short field goals for the win. The lackluster performances by the offense and the special teams on both sides have left some questions. Many have commented on this strange finale that left many questioning their choice to stay up late for the 8:30 pm game and others happy with their decision to end the night early.
NFL Season 2016 Week 6: Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 16, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Atlanta Falcons visited the Seattle Seahawks hoping to continue with their streak of wins. They have been able to win all their four previous matches but this one proved to be tougher than they thought. The Seahawks too advantage of their home ground and beat the Falcons 26-24.
In the first half, Seattle dominated the line of scrimmage holding the Falcons to 86 yards but soon surprises followed. What happened in the third and fourth quarters caught everyone by surprise.
With 4:47 left on the clock, Seattle were trailing 24-23 after 21 third quarter points by Matt Ryan. At this moment, the Seahawks’ Russell Wilson led a 70-yarddrive. This would be capped by a 1-yard run by Christine Michael putting the scores to 24-23 still in favour of the Falcons. The big break for the Seahawks came with 3:48 on the clock. Ryan’s pass slipped and through Julio Jone’s hand then was tapped by Richard Sherman and finally landed in the lucky hands of Earl Thomas. This gave his team possession at midfield. Russell Wilson took advantage of this chance and aided Steven Hauschka make a 44-yard field game with 1:57 on the clock. This gave the Seahawks a 26-24 wild win. This was Russell’s 20th career fourth quarter/overtime comeback. Ryan finished with 335 yards runs and three touchdowns.
Other than the actual; game that went down, there were some side shows. The most notable one was Sherman’s anger eruption. He got extremely angry when Jones was left wide open after the blown coverage. He was so angry he kept screaming at his coaches and teammates. Many people tried to calm him down including Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Thomas and Bobby Wagner.
NFL Season 2016 Week 4: Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets on Sunday, October 02, 1:00 PM, MetLife Stadium
It was an interesting game to watch where Seattle Seahawks won 27-17 against New York Jets. Both teams played aggressively but Seahawks did a better job in crucial moments. Most experts say that some players did a huge difference. One of them is Russell Wilson who probably made the best performance this season. He suffered few injuries, but even that was not the obstacle to show full potential. Only week ago, the similar situation with injuries happened to C.J. Spiller and he watched the game at home. This time, he scored a great touchdown. For a player like he is, it is not strange, but we still wonder how professionals can recover that fast.
In the team of New York Jets, the atmosphere is not the best. Previous defeat at Kansas City was still in their head and maybe that influenced the outcome in the game against Seahawks. Jets’ player Brandon Marshall said he expected to win, but the life is sometimes harsh and slap you in the face when you do not expect it. It this case, this was totally true. Seahawks had more chances and they used them all. This is the reason for many people to notice that Seahawks are maybe the most prepared team in the league at the moment.
NFL Season 2016 Week 3: Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, September 25, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
San Francisco 49ers suffered a fifth straight loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks, and the match was not even close as Seattle dominated and went ahead to win by 37 – 18. Seattle Seahawks entered the game wanting to score more than the 15 points they had so far gotten in the two games they had so far played this season, and the 49ers did little to make it difficult for them as Christine Michael tormented San Francisco’s right side’s defense easily and in the third quarter got a 41-yard touchdown.
Receiver Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham both had over 100 yards receiving during the first half. Wilson finished with a touchdown and with 243 yards enabling Seattle to finish with a total of 418 yards. For San Francisco, Blaine Gabbert was lacking form and Torrey Smith got off limping when there was still around 12 minutes of play left. San Francisco only managed 254 yards. After winning comfortably in week 1, the 49ers now look to be having a difficult season ahead of them as they are now already down 1 – 2 and have not won in Seattle since 2011.
NFL Season 2016 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, September 18, 4:05 PM, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
The win over LA Rams against the Seattle Seahawks was purely due to the loose offence offered by the Seahawks. Although the Rams got a win at their home opening, the score still stands at 1-1 for both the teams. The Seattle due Cliff Avril and Frank Clark gave a tough time to the tackle of the LA Rams, Robinson, who was flagged twice for offensive holding. The Rams gave whopping 254 yards in the game and Trumaine Jhonson’s role in keeping the receiver from the Seahawks in check is applaudable.
Seattle’s defender Kam Chancellor was another show stealer in the game. He made five stops during the game on Sunday. The defence line up of the Rams stood nowhere in front of the league’s leading rushing team. The final finishing rushes made by Thomas Rawls during the end of the game did prove for the Rams. Their 9-3 victory against the Seattle Seahawks makes them the only team in the third week that hasn’t had a single down. It did seem like they would get a touchdown in the second quarter of the game but the situation was controlled after Todd Gurley and Tavon Austin got tackled while Case Keenum threw an incomplete pass to receiver Kenny Britt.
NFL Season 2016 Week 1: Seattle Seahawks vs Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 11, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
The game played between the Seattle Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins saw yet another fourth quarter comeback by Russell Wilson. Though he had an ankle injury, Wilson was able to throw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin. This score was made with only 31seconds left in the clock which put the final scores on the board at 12-10. Here is a rundown on how it all happened.
The first quarter ended with a 3-0 lead by the Seahawks after a 39-yard field goal scored by Steven Haushka. The next quarter began with Kenny Stills, a wide receiver dropping a sure touchdown pass. Andrew Franks soon kicked a 41-yard field goal bringing the scores to a 3-3 draw. Before getting to halftime, the Seahawks took the lead again after a 38-yard field which earned them 3 extra points. On starting the third quarter, the man on whom all eyes lay, Rusell Wilson injured his right angle after Ndamukong Suh sacked him. The scores however did not change with Miami’s safety Isa Abdul-Quddus blocking Rusell’s pass attempt to Doug Baldwin. It was during the final quarter that most scores were made.
The first was a two yard touchdown by the Dolphin’s Quarterback Ryan Tannehill taking his team to the lead with 10-6 score with only 4 minutes and 6secionds remaining on the clock. The final move was made by Russell Wilson who passes a two-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin who made the final score earning the Seahawks the win seconds before the final whistle was blown.
NFL Preseason 2016 Week 4: Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders on Thursday, September 01, 10:00 PM, Oakland Coliseum
In a match that was mostly played in the final quarter …the Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders game was a nail biter. The away team emerged victorious in the end and the coach was really happy with what he saw in the final preseason matchup. In a match where the backup players dominated the game, the starters were hardly effective. Seahawks being the away team played most of their starters in the first three-quarters. The Raiders on the other hand, rested their starters in the first two-quarters.
However, that was not enough for them to pull off a home win. With the first quarter being scoreless, the coaches had to think of something different. The offensive attacks were stopped with a very organized defense and that made the first two-quarters quite uneventful. It was in the fourth quarter that the Seahawks took a Pick-6 lead when Ryan Robinson intercepted early and converted it into a touchdown. The Raiders did end the second quarter with an advantage of 2 points, but they could not hold on to the lead in the last quarter.
George Atkinson made a very impressive 80 yards touchdown from his half to the Raider’s half. The away team also managed to get an additional touchdown in the end. The coach said that the win has uplifted the team spirit and they would be hoping to do well when the season starts.
NFL Preseason 2016 Week 3: Seattle Seahawks vs Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, August 25, 10:00 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Cowboys game to Seahawks at Seattle came as a great disappointed especially since they had greater chances and opportunities to win the game. There had been great expectations from the supporters of the Seahawks, that their team would quickly crash the Cowboys. The Cowboy team defence which has always been strong showed a lack of total committed. Only one player seemed up to the task during the game. Greg Hardy, one outstanding defensive player remained competitive throughout the game.
Matt Cassle’s long drives steered the Seahawks on as it created loopholes in the game which they took up to their advantage
Greg and Lawrence were instrumental in maintaining an even keel since they slid on the field and played from the backside. This prevented Lynch and Rawls from pulling through. The Dallas front seven were swift in getting to the ball.
The Cowboy’s one dimensional approach greatly contributed to their inability to score even one touchdown. The Cowboys did not play to their expectations. The team’s defence need to be double checked to ensure the same mistakes are not repeated in the future. The Seahawks need to improve on their speed if they want to do better
NFL Preseason 2016 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks vs Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, August 18, 10:00 PM, CenturyLink Field
Over in Century Link Field after fighting against an 11 – 0 at half time it looked like the Seattle Seahawks were pressing towards victory against the visiting Minnesota Vikings. The game ended 18 – 11 for the visitors but it was an exciting game by most measures.
Seattle fans would most likely have been disheartened at the end of the first half having scored no points but thanks to Boykin there was a glimmer of hope of victory. Coming off a 17 – 16 pre season opener against Cansas city fans of the Seahawks would have been feeling optimistic.
Minnesota had one offensive touchdown which came in the second quarter. With the Vikings adding a field goal to their tally it did make for a difficult comeback for Seahawks. There is a short break for the Seahawks players before they face the Dallas Cowboys at the Century Link field. They will look to take the positives from their match against the Vikings and translate it into victory.
An exciting and very close game filled with exciting players to watch as well as offering the fans a lot of action. I’m sure we look forward to having an exciting season ahead.
NFL Preseason 2016 Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, August 13, 4:30 PM, Arrowhead Stadium
The Seattle Seahawks faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs in a highly competed NFL preseason match at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. This was an interesting match as it was the first time that the Seattle Seahawks did not have their favorite player Marshawn Lynch. The chiefs dominated the first hour of the match with a touch down from Alex Smith and three field goals from the renowned Cairo Santos. On the other hand Steven Hauschka scored 3 goals for the Seahawks.
Trevone Boykin saved the day after engineering 88-yard touchdown in four plays. This performance beat Tanner McEvoy’s 37-yard score giving the team a win. Tyvis Pope hit the 2-point conversion and since no time was left his performance lead Seattle Seahawks to a 17-16 victory.Jake Heaps was competing with Boykin to be Russel Wilson’s backup. Jake Heaps ended up replacing Russell and made some significant improvements for his team in spite of a few hiccups during the final drive.
The Chiefs were surprisingly flagged for having 12 players on the field and the ball was moved to the 1 and Pope scored. Ultimately, the Seahawks won when McEvoy out-positioned Malcolm Jackson and there was no more time remaining. These teams have already squared off in this year and we cannot wait for the coming game.
Seattle Seahawks NFL season 2015 recap
Pete Carroll was Seattle Seahawks’s coach in the 2015/2016 season. Seattle Seahawks almost made it to their third consecutive Super Bowl, which is amazing. Seattle Seahawks started the season 2-4 but managed to win 8 of their last 10 games.
The team eventually clinched the No.6 seed in the famous NFC playoffs. In fact, that was the first season where Seattle Seahawks won double digit wins. In Week 15, Seattle Seahawks secured a spot in the playoff by winning over the powerful Cleveland Browns.
Russel Wilson got a passer rating of over 120 in every game between weeks 10 and 15, and this became the longest winning streat in the history of the league. Seattle Seahawks finished second in the NFC West. Seattle Seahawks won the Wild Card Playoofs by defeating the Vikings in a 10-9 score.
However, the team lost the Divisional Playoffer against the Panthers with a 24-31 score. Russel Wilson can be considered as the NFL’s best player in 20015, as he had an extraordinary 5-week performance. The 4th-year quarterback was on a truly history run of games helping Seattle become a sleeping giant with a 9-5 score. He head a rating of at least 120 including 3 touchdowns.
NFL Season 2015 Divisional Playoffs: Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers on Sunday, January 17, 1:05 PM, Bank of America Stadium
The Seahawks irately rallied in the second half, however it wasn’t sufficient to conquer a 31-0 first half shortage, as the Seahawks tumbled to the Carolina Panthers by a last of 31-24.
It was a story of two parts for the Hawks. In the wake of conceding the opening kick, it took only one drive by every offense to put the Panthers up by 14, after a Luke Kuechly pick-six immediately took after a speedy and simple touchdown drive that occurred totally on the ground for Carolina. Russell Wilson played as poor of a half of football as we’ve seen from him, tossing two captures and taking terrible sacks, while the hostile line neglected to frame any similarity of a divider before him. The safeguard was at the end of the day frequented by Greg Olsen, whose touchdown get at the end of the half would be the inevitable contrast producer. Steven Hauschka additionally missed a field objective at the end of the a large portion of, a field objective that could have made things exceptionally intriguing at the end of the match.
At the point when the second half started, both groups looked totally changed. The run game for the Panthers was non-existent, and the Seattle offense woke up. Started by a major Tyler Lockett kickoff give back, the Seahawks would discover the end zone on three of their next four drives (Kearse, Lockett, Kearse), with the Panthers copying off a lot of the check in the middle.
With 2:49 staying in the game, Seattle at long last got this show on the road the ball back. They walked down the field, yet a deferral of game punishment complicated things on second and-10 from the Panthers 13-yard line. They settled for the field objective to slice the shortfall to seven, and, for the second year in succession, were set to depend on an onside kick to decide their playoff trusts. This time, Brandon Bostick was mysteriously absent, and Thomas Davis made a striking catch (for a linebacker) to seal the game for Carolina.
NFL Season 2015 Wild Card Weekend: Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, January 10, 1:05 PM, TCF Bank Stadium
The game between Seahawks and Vikings was played on Sunday where Seahawks emerged as the winners with a 10-9 victory over their opponents. This was the game with the highest number of viewers over the weekend. The game set a great mark in the history of NFL games after being played at a temperature of -6 degrees. As a show to fans support appreciation, the Vikings gave out Caribou coffee and free hand warmers to keep the fans warm.
The Seahawks didn’t make a score until Wilson made a short but accurate touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin in the 4th quarter. Adrian Peterson Fumbled with the ball on the next position giving a chance of a field foal to Steven Hauschka.
The Vikings however, took the ball at 39-yard line for the deciding drive with only 1.42 minutes left and were helped by a pass interference penalty on Kam Chancellor who drove straight in Seattle’s side. After the Vikings exhausted the clock for an inevitable win, Walsh lost the winner after he had made three attempts.
Chancellor missed a tackle after ripping the ball away from Peterson on a strenuous end of Kyle’s 24-yard reception. This left the Vikings ahead to the 18 having 1:26 left. Peterson had three more carries living the Vikings yard short of a first down. Despite the tough battle between the two, Seahawks managed to defeat the team that was seen to be a great challenge.
NFL Season 2015 Week 17: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, January 03, 4:25 PM, University of Phoenix Stadium
The Seattle Seahawks did not experience much competition from the Arizona Cardinals as they were able to dispose of them rather easily with a score of 36-6. They were also able to get revenge on them since this was the same team that dethroned them as NFC West champions. The nine game winning streak of the Cardinals ended in emphatic fashion when they were witnesses to Russell Wilson throwing three touchdown passes in the second quarter that blew the game wide open.
It was the most lopsided loss in coach Bruce Arians’ tenure for the Cardinals and it was not exactly the way he wants the regular season for his boys to end since they already clinched the NFC’s no. 2 seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Perhaps, his boys were playing a little light as they were already looking forward to the playoffs. Arians admitted that everyone already pegged them as the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year so they got beat in every phase of the game. Despite the loss, Arizona’s Carson Palmer says they are not panicking in any way and he’s right. The team is looking forward to whoever they play next.
NFL Season 2015 Week 16: Seattle Seahawks vs St. Louis Rams on Sunday, December 27, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Rams entered this game with one win against Seattle this year. After the win, they completed the season sweep against this divisional team. Even with this loss, the Seahawks are still assured a spot in the playoffs this year (albeit the final wild card spot). All the NFC playoff teams have been decided so far. Much better than the AFC, where not a whole lot is known yet (still two teams, including one division winner needs to be decided).
Case Keenum completed 14 of his 23 attempts for 103 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He’s only thrown one interception in his four starts all season.
Russel Wilson completed 25 of his 41 attempts, throwing for 289 yards, two touchdown passes, and one interception. He also rushed for 39 yards on 6 attempts. Wilson has thrown 31 touchdowns on the season, already a career high, besting the 26 he threw in both his first and second seasons as a professional.
The Rams led in the game going into halftime 16-3. The Seahawks would get their feet under them in the second half, scoring fourteen of their seventeen total points. They also only allowed seven points in the second half. But by then, the damage was already done.
NFL Season 2015 Week 15: Seattle Seahawks vs Cleveland Browns on Sunday, December 20, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
Browns at Seahawks ended with Seattle beating Cleveland 30-13, and this meant that the Seahawks clinched a fourth consecutive trip to the postseason, and they are also assured one of the two NFC wildcard spots. The Seahawks are the fifth seed in their conference but that doesn’t mean that they can’t go on and win it all like they did last season. It also marks the first postseason appearance by veterans Ahtyba Rubin and Fred Jackson, who have achieved the dream of playing in the playoffs after ten years. Here are two interesting facts about Seattle’s win over Cleveland.
With his three touchdown strikes on Sunday, Russell Wilson became the first player in NFL history to throw for at least three touchdowns and no interceptions in five consecutive games. In his last five games, Wilson now boasts of 19 touchdowns with no interceptions, and even Brady, Mannning, Rodgers and Montana would be envious of such ab achievement. Seattle held Cleveland to just 94 yards when rushing, and it’s the ninth match this season in which the Seahawks defense held the opponent to less than triple numbers when it comes to the ground game.
NFL Season 2015 Week 14: Seattle Seahawks at Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, December 13, 8:30 PM, M&T Bank Stadium
The lack of running backs in the Seattle Seahawks line up wont alarm them yet again as they cruised past the Baltimore Ravens with a resounding 35 – 6 win. Russell Wilson threw five touchdown passes with three going to Doug Baldwin meaning that the lack of running backs has been covered by Russell’s throws. Baltimore Ravens whose injuries continue to deplete the team of the normal line up meant that they had to surfer another huge and disappointing loss at the hands of the Seahawks. This also meant that Seahawks have now won in four consecutive games.
The five TDs that Russell threw matched his career high and this showed how much of a decider he was in the game. This also gave him a total of 16 in his last four games which is a really great achievement for the player. Thomas Rawls who broke his ankle a wile back and who normally plays as running back had to miss the game because of the injury but no loss there really as the Seahawks proved. It was a great game but with all the injuries that the Ravens had, it was a one way game and there was nothing they could do about it.
NFL Season 2015 Week 13: Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 06, 1:00 PM, TCF Bank Stadium
This game was never really close, after Seattle scored their first touchdown. Right now they are in line to score the second wild card spot (Minnesota occupies the first one). They did a good job winning a big game for them, this win could come in handy at the end of December. We are not that far away from deciding who will go to the playoffs.
Russell Wilson completed 21 of his 27 passes, throwing for 274 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown in the game. He had nine rushes for 51 yards.
Teddy Bridgewater completed seventeen of his 28 passes, throwing for 118 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He also fumble the ball in the game, but they did not have more than one turnover in the game.
The only touchdown that Minnesota scored was in the third quarter; whereas Seattle scored at least a field goal in all quarters (and at bare minimum a touchdown for the first three quarters). Seattle scored fourteen points in the second and the third quarter. A member of the Vikings, Cordarrelle Peterson, did return a kick 101 yards for the only touchdown in the game. At least the only touchdown they scored was interesting.
NFL Season 2015 Week 12: Seattle Seahawks vs Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, November 29, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Steelers at Seahawks was a good game with the Seattle’s playing host to Pittsburgh Steelers. This was a game which seriously bolstered the playoff hopes of the Hawks. One win and the Seattle’s would bump to 6-5, putting them in the wild card race and keeping them alive with their hopes of winning the NFC West title.
However, in this path towards victory for the Hawks, stand the Steelers featuring a very scary passing attack. Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback for the Steelers came up with an impressive game play in spite of his knee injury. However, it was Russell Wilson who came up with the best performance and the match-winner for this 29th November NFL game.
The five touch-down passes threw by Wilson were career-high and they served as stepping stones towards the 39-30 win for the Steelers over the Seahawks. All credits to Wilson for the finest regular season performances during his career.
The efforts put in by Wilson were rewarded with Seattle getting above the .500 mark for the first time during the NFL season 2015, keeping the Seahawks down for the NFC playoff hunt. This was truly a game that left the spectators with concussions.
NFL Season 2015 Week 11: Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, November 22, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Seattle Seahawks swept the San Francisco 49ers in a 29-13 win due in large part to the outstanding performance of rookie running back, Thomas Rawls, who ran for over 209 yards and scored two touchdowns. Rawls was replacing veteran Marshawn Lynch who was out with an injury. Rawls scored his first touchdown early in the game on the Seahawks’ third play at offense and seemed to set a tone that carried on consistently throughout the rest of the four quarters.
After a twenty point lead from the Seahawks, San Francisco was able to eventually put some points on the board with a touchdown and two field goal kicks but it was never enough to close the gap. Rawls wasn’t the only Seattle rookie that helped lead his team to victory as wide receiver, Tyler Lockett, scored two touchdowns one of which was done with a San Francisco defender literally hanging on to Lockett’s back as he ran it into the end zone. Thanks to their impressive victory over the 49ers the Seahawks might be able to clinch a playoff wildcard spot as their currently ranked second for the position, just behind the Atlanta Falcons.
NFL Season 2015 Week 10: Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 15, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Arizona Cardinals pulled off a win after their halftime lead of 22-7 was soon erased in the fourth quarter on a Bobby Wagner 22 – yard fumble return. Unfazed by the turn of events Carson Palmer continued to impress as he threw for 363 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception and went 29/48 as the Cardinals beat the Seattle Seahawks 39-32 to keep their season rolling at 7-2 and a comfortable 3 game lead in the NFC West. They have their eyes on the playoffs and will be a serious contender.
The Seattle Seahawks gave the division leading Cardinals a run for their money. Being down 22-7 at halftime, they came back in the fourth quarter and took the lead 29-25 with not much time run off the clock after a 22 yard fumble recovery for a score by Bobby Wagner.
Carson Palmer has been there and done that. And, like a true pro quarterback he is, he led the Cardinals on a scoring drive of 83 yards and finished it off with an impressive touchdown pass of 14 yards to Jermaine Gresham with almost 9 minutes remaining on the game clock. That was all the scoring that needed to take place in that game to give the Cardinals the big win on their run for the playoffs.
NFL Season 2015 Week 8: Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, November 01, 4:25 PM, AT&T Stadium
This win for the Seahawks meant a lot for them. They got off to a bad start, 0-2, but turned the season around by winning four of their last six games. The Cowboys, on the other hand, will have to try again next week to break the losing streak they are on right now, without Tony Romo, who broke his left collarbone.
Matt Cassel, filling in for starting quarterback Tony Romo, had 97 passing yards on 13 completions. He also had four rushes that accounted for 43 yards; two of Cassel’s rushes kept two drives going, one of which was a career long of 24 yards.
Russell Wilson had 19 completions for 210 yards and threw the game’s only touchdown that was caught by Luke Wilson, a tight end. Wilson also rushed for 32 yards on six carries.
The Cowboys have struggled without Tony Romo, who has been absent for the last five games . They have lost every single game that he has been absent from the lineup. The Seahawks are enjoying the win, as it puts them at .500 for the first time all season.
The Cowboys scored points in every single quarter of the game, unfortunately, all they could manage were field goals each time. The Seahawks scored a touchdown, the only one of the game, that wound up deciding the game.
NFL Season 2015 Week 7: Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, October 22, 8:25 PM, Levis Stadium
High flying defense and power running by Marshawn Lynch were enough to see the Seattle Seahawks thrash the 49ers 20-3 in a one sided match in the San Francisco’s side home field.
Russell Wilson was on song as he threw a 43 yard touchdown pass to Tyler Locket as the 1st half was winding up and Lynch also added a leaping one yard score to record a fourth straight win for the Seahawks against their bitter rivals.
There was an early scare for the Seahawks as Lynch was caught on camera vomiting after getting winded up during a busy opening drive but he was able to shake off the opening discomfort to produce 122 yards in the first half. Wilson made key plays while Collin Karpernick continued to struggle facing Seattle. Wilson was also sacked five time to increase his NFL leading total to 31 with a pair of interceptions.
With the game very one sided, the home fans left early prompting the 49ers CEO Jed York to apologize on twitter about dismal performance. Karpernick epitomized the 49ers difficult night with errant passes with even one of his passes hitting a 49ers staff member on the head.
The 49ers 55 yards in the first half were the least allowed by the Seattle defense in an opening half for more than 12 years showing how the 49ers lacked bite in their offensive half.
NFL Season 2015 Week 6: Seattle Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers on Sunday, October 18, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Carolina Panthers rose above teh Seattle Seahawks at a good match. It was an upset because everyone was expecting Seahawks to win this match. Panthers won over them at 27-23 which took their playoff chance up to 99 percent from 69. It had to happen and Seahawks lost the chance of achieving playoff by 24%. This was the highest fall for a team in terms of percentage this week (week 6). Seahawks started the season at 80 points but now they only have 23% chances of making it to the playoff.
The fans are really disappointed about their performance and on the other hand, the fans of Carolina Panthers’ are happy. This was sad from a Seahawks fan perspective because they gave up the lead of a fourth quarter in this match. This was a home match for them and it is the third time in the history that they lost a match in their home when Russell Wilson played as a quarterback. Though the stats are not looking that bright, the team is strong enough and everyone is hoping that the team will rise up again.
NFL Season 2015 Week 5: Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, October 11, 1:00 PM, Paul Brown Stadium
Seattle Seahawks have been progressing so well in their current NFL campaign. Their recent triumph was a 24-7 win which saw them straight into the fourth quarter. Their defense has been so helpful in this campaign and it has been ranked to be one of the best. However, their clash with the Cincinnati Bengals displayed the opposite of what many expected.
The underrated Bengals came back and fought whole heartedly, trying the game on the last play of regulation and ended up winning it in overtime 27-24. To many peoples surprise, the Seahawks defense during this game seemed to be disorganized and were giving the Bengals so many chances which saw them being punished at the end of the game. It is undoubtedly that the Bengals deserved a win after a very pleasant display of the game with so much determination.
They really deserved a credit in this game. The results of the game might have been attributed to the fact that the Bengals were more organized with one aim of winning. Players like Tyler Eifert who scored a 14-yard touchdown and he seemed so much on form utilizing every opportunity that came his way.
NFL Season 2015 Week 4: Seattle Seahawks vs Detroit Lions on Monday, October 05, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
On Monday night, Kam Chancellor of the Seahawks saved the day by forcing a fumble on the 1-yard line by Calvin Johnson. The ball went rolling all the way toward the back of the end zone where linebacker KJ Wright of the Seahawks was there to battle the ball out of play and give them possession as well as a touch-back.
The time left was burned by the Seahawks to secure their win that was highly controversial. The ball, as it is should never have been awarded to the Seahawks, and this is what caused the upset for the better part of the game. The Lions instead should have had the ball, but the referee who was clearly in sight of all this happening just ignored the call and the play went to the Seahawks.
Though Seahawks played a good game and although the win was undeserving, sometimes luck can work wonders on the pitch as they found out. The Lions were infuriated by this decision, but that’s water under the bridge now. This call did cost the Lions their first win which they so desperately needed. Overall, the game was great and this moment just heightened the fact that it was a great game.
NFL Season 2015 Week 3: Seattle Seahawks vs Chicago Bears on Sunday, September 27, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
In the Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks game, the Bears suffered their own terrible loss with a 0-26 loss. Kam Chancellor was back on the field and ready for his team’s first victory of the season. With the loss of Jay Cutler, the Bears had a battle on their hands, as they too fought for their first win. Matt Forte was held to 74 yards on 20 carries and the Bears finished with just 37 yards. During the first half fans weren’t sure what to expect with the 6-0 lead over the Bears and then the second half came and Seattle opened up with a 105 yard return to score a touchdown. Tight End Jimmy Graham had seven catches for 83 yards and a touchdown, RB Thomas Rawls had 15 carries for 101 yards. Not everything was rosy for Seattle though. Marshawn Lynch left the field at halftime with a hamstring injury. Defensive Tackle Brandon Mebane also suffered a groin injury and didn’t return to the game. Rumors have it Lynch’s hamstring injury is nothing to be concerned about. I guess we’ll see next week when Seattle plays the Lions on Monday night.
The Seahawks came into the game with a 16 point favorite and they more than covered the spread with their blowout 26-0 win. The Bears fall to 0-3 with their first shutout since 2002.
NFL Season 2015 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers on Sunday, September 20, 8:30 PM, Lambeau Field
Two games in, and the NFC champion, the Seattle Seahawks defense is proving that they miss Kam Chancellor. The defense gave up a bunch of big plays, both in their loss in the first game to St. Louis and here against the Packers. Not to mention a lot of points, in the two games they’ve played this season, they’ve already given up 61 points.
The Packers took advantage of this weakness in their defense, and exploited it. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns and no interceptions, and had 249 on 25 completions after 33 attempts. With the Packers down 17-16, he also put together a 10 play scoring drive in the fourth to give the Packers a 7 point lead after a successful 2-point conversion play.
Russell Wilson threw two touchdowns and had 206 yards on 19 completions and had 78 rushing yards on 10 carries. Seattle’s offense hasn’t been able to make up for shortcomings on defense either. They’ve only put up 48 points on the scoreboard. On offense, their last two drives of the game they turned the ball over, a costly interception from Russell Wilson and the Packers added a field goal to pad their lead, and a fumble recovery that would seal the win for Green Bay.
NFL Season 2015 Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams on Sunday, September 13, 1:00 PM, Edward Jones Dome
The Seattle Seahawks let the St. Louis Rams walk away with a victory at extra time. Although there weren’t that much stakes hanging in this game, the Rams walked away with a somewhat non deserved victory. The choice of Coach Carroll for the Seahawks was a subject for debate again as his boys failed to impress.
There were a lot of good moments as well as there were bad moments in the game on Sunday. The Seahawks defense at times really gave a really great display of athleticism and this was clearly seen when they were 31-24 up with only five minutes of play left. Cary Williams especially was really superb when he came on and this made the defense even more imposing as they already were. With Kam Chancellor missing, his presence in the field was deeply missed as the Seahawks gave away almost 350 yards in the game.
After the failure to convert by the Seahawks, the Rams walked away the victors. The Seahawks now have to wait till next Sunday to try and redeem themselves. Congratulations to the St. Louis Rams for the victory that was well deserved despite the fact that they really had to fight and come from behind to win it.
NFL Super Bowl 2014: Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots on Monday, February 01, 6:30 PM, U of Phoenix Stadium
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks ended with the Patriots lifting yet another Superbowl trophy, and the Seahawks were left ruing the missed chances to seal a famous win. The Patriots won their fourth Superbowl in dramatic fashion, and a controversial play call doomed the bid by the Seahawks to win back-to-back Superbowl titles. Despite the Seahawks leading 14-5 at halftime, it was the Patriots who came out guns blazing to outscore their opponents 10-23 in the second half. The patriots were down 24-21 with 6:52 to go in the fourth quarter but they scored with a touchdown and conversion in the dying minutes of the game.
Ten years removed from his last Superbowl win, Tom Brady wasn’t going to let this one slip away. Brady has now equaled Montana by having won 4 Lombardi Trophies, and being named the Superbowl MVP for the third time in his career. He also sets a new record with 13 touchdown passes during his Superbowl appearances. However, this was not all about Brady being the star of the show or the Patriots trying to stop Marshall Lynch because the other unheralded players on both teams had something to say about the outcome of the game.
New England Patriots were indebted to Danny Amendola for making five interceptions, running 48 yards and capping off his outstanding performance with a touchdown. For the Seattle Seahawks, they had Chris Mathews to thank for making four interceptions, running 109 yards and scoring with a touchdown. The performances of these two players show you how the opposing coach can surprise you with a change of tactics. Amendola’s performance was also down to the Patriots’ strategy of tormenting Seattle’s zone covering game plan. Running back Shane Vereen was isolated from the backfield, and it was a good plan because he was constantly posing matchup problems for linebackers.
Star players Edelman and Gronkowski took time to get into this game, with the former having a dominant game in the fourth quarter. Edelman made some timely 3rd down grabs, and he even scored what would ultimately prove to be a winning score. So in the end, he made 9 catches, ran 109 yards, and scored with a touchdown. Gronkowski was not at his dominant best but he still managed 6 catches while running 68 yards and scoring once. Ultimately, it was Tom Brady who managed to steal the headlines with four touchdown passes, and he deservedly picked up the MVP award for the third time in his outstanding career.
NFL Season 2014 Conference Championships: Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers on Sunday, January 18, 3:05 PM, CenturyLink Field
The Green Bay Packers had a hard time playing against the Seahawks in Seattle where it appeared like the latter were clearly headed for the Super Bowl. The Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers 28-22 to clinch the victory after the Packers failed to cash in on five takeaways that were given to them. It could be due to the home-field advantage because since the stadium was constructed, the sound of the home crowd is automatically amplified which can turn out to be overwhelming for a visiting team.
Players like Drew Stanton, Colin Kaepernick, Shaun Hill, Ryan Lindley and Austin Davis seemed particularly not capable of handling the crowd noise of Seattle. Maybe if the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers would have been more present, he would have coped but unfortunately he was a little handicapped due to an injured calf. The Packers will now have to decide if some players such as Randall Cob are worth being spent a lot of money on. The Seattle Seahawks are set to meet the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. It is set to be a very tough game as these two winning teams face each other in the field very soon.
NFL Season 2014 Divisional Playoffs: Seattle Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers on Saturday, January 10, 8:15 PM, CenturyLink Field
Before the beginning of this game the question on many peoples mind was if the Carolina Panthers could upset Seattle. However, this was not to be as Carolina lost 31-17. Carolina came into this game very determined to make it to the playoffs. However, two interceptions from Cam Newton killed any chances of a win for them. One of this interceptions led to a touchdown putting the game beyond Carolina.
The game was not generally very exciting but there were some key individual brilliance from some of the players. On one of this players is Jonathan Stewart and his 70 yard rush on 13 attempts. Another outstanding player for Carolina was Kelvin Benjamin who had seven catches for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Outstanding players for Seattle were Kam Chancellor and Marshawn Lynch who went 90 yard to secure the win for Seattle. Lynch also had 11 tackles. Chancellor also had a good game with 14 attempts of 59 yard rush.
Despite their spirited attempt to win the game Carolina seemed to have a lot of trouble in passing the ball. Perhaps this was one of the major contributors to their huge loss. Now Carolina can focus on preparations for next season since they are out of the playoffs.
NFL Season 2014 Week 17: Seattle Seahawks vs St. Louis Rams on Sunday, December 28, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field

Seattle was plagued by injuries in the contest, losing running back Frank Gore to a concussion and middle linebacker Chris Borland to a hurt ankle.
Seattle is already looking ahead to the postseason – although coach Pete Carroll claimed that the club is just taking it one game at a time. Meanwhile, San Francisco fans are coping with the reality that their (7-7) program has been mathematically eliminated from postseason play. For a program with San Francisco’s tradition of excellence, this is likely to be unacceptable and coach Jim Harbaugh’s future is uncertain. Harbaugh, like Carroll says that he is only thinking about the next game, although not making the playoffs for the first time in his four years with San Francisco has to be a bitter pill to swallow.

NFL Season 2014 Week 12: Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 23, 4:05 PM, CenturyLink Field

All eyes were on Middle line backer Bobby Wagner returning from a six week turf-toe injury coming in to partner Kam Chancellor at the heat of defense.
Sunday marked the lowest points allowed by the Seahawks since December last year against the New York Giants. Wagner in his assessment felt that crucial players to the team were coming back to the team at the right time which was crucial for the four division games coming up. Star of the match however was Russell Wilson who finished 17 of 22 for 211yards adding a further 73 yards rushing. Seattle safety Thomas was quick to applaud the exploits of the team as a whole after the game.

Russell Wilson was able to hit some passes out in the flat, but they weren’t able to push the ball down the field in the fashion that they wanted to. The presence of Eric Berry and made a huge difference. The fact that Alex Smith only had to throw the ball sixteen times in the game may be a sign of the confidence that the Chiefs have in Jamal Charles and the running game.
The high ankle sprain that occurred to Max Unger definitely had an impact on the offensive game plan for the Seahawks. Marshawn Lynch was still able to get 159 yards, but unless you are able to convert those yards into points in the red zone, the Chiefs linebackers in particular have to consider the Lynch overall rushing number a victory. Josh Mauga was able to plug up a number of key running lanes that the Seawhawks wanted to explore. Phillip Gaines also did some solid tackling as a cornerback as he wrapped up a number of the wide outs.

The Seattle Seahawks were able to set up a drive late in the game that allowed them to beat the Carolina Panthers by a 13-9 score. It was the Wilson-Wilson connection that won the game for the Seahawks. People have to be aware of the effort that K.J. Wright made in the game. Wright was able to make Cam Newton fairly uncomfortable in the game. The significant kick return by Paul Richardson for 47 yards is something that did help set up the Seahawks for victory.
There are people on the Seahawks staff that said they saw holes in the Panthers kicking game on tape earlier in the week. Josh Norman and other people were able to make plays for the Panthers during the game that stalled drives put together by Russell Wilson.
Greg Olson is going to continue to make progress for the Panthers at the tight end position, but players like Earl Thomas and Cliff Avril were able to slow some of that progress. The Panthers struggled to get the ball to Jason Avant, this is why they tried to force it to Avant in the running game. Those struggles are why the Panthers could not win the game.

The champions finished the first half down by fifteen, but the team pulled it together in the second half scoring two touchdowns to bring the game within a two point margin. The Seahawks did miss a two-point conversion that would have tied the game at twenty-one.
The Rams took the ball on the next drive and went down the field and scored giving them a nine point lead. A major play during the drive was a forth down that was converted to a first down when the Rams faked a punt and got a badly needed first down to keep the eventual winning drive alive. The Seahwaks did score another touchdown in the closing moments of the game to make it a two point contest, but that was as close as they were going to get on Sunday afternoon. The Rams will have a tough battle as they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Seahawks are playing against a struggling Carolina Panthers team.
NFL Season 2014 Week 6: Seattle Seahawks vs Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, October 12, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
This game which was played at home to Seattle Seahawks saw the Dallas Cowboys recorded their fifth win by thrashing Seattle Seahawks 30-23 at home. The Dallas Cowboys won this game thanks to Demarco Murray who recorded his name in the NFL history books by becoming the second running back to complete 6 full 100 yards. Murray run a comfortable 15 yards with just under 3.16 minutes left. More records were also set in this game as the Cowboys became the first team outside the NFC West conference to beat Seattle Seahawks at home since 2011. Quarterback Tony Romo was also impressive in this game as he converted a third from Murrays 75 yard drive. Russell Wilson also ran a 9 yard touchdown with Mike Morgan returning a 25 yard punt for a score.
Highest performers from both sides were Tony Romo from the Cowboys who had 21 complete passes with 250 yards. Demarco Murray had a record 115 yards with 29 CAR. NFL Season 2014 Week 5: Seattle Seahawks at Washington Redskins on Monday, October 06, 8:30 PM, FedEx Field
The football game played on Monday night was the match up between the Seattle Seahawks (4-1) and the Washington, Redskins (1-4) going into last night’s game Seattle the former Super Bowl champions and were hot again Monday night. In a game that all the pundits called correctly, Seattle bested Washinton by a score of 27-17. The game showcased the phenomenal talents of QB Russell Wilson who broke a Monday night football rushing record with over 100 yards rushing. Wilson skampered all over the field making awesome throws and runs that caught the Redskins by surprise. Wilson completed 18 of 24 passes for 201 yards and their were two more scores the Seahawks, who displayed an uncharacteristic slowness coming off their bye week. Coach Pete Carroll’s was penalized heavily, keeping the game closer than it probably should have been. With the win last night Seattle achieved (4-1) status. Washington drops to (1-4.) Even though Washington gave the Seahawks an unexpectedly close game, they have been hampered by injuries with Curt Cousins still in for the injured Robert Griffin the 3rd. However Cousins was able to connect with Andre Roberts and DeSean Jackon for TDS, and a field goal was obtained by Skins kicker Kai Horthbath. Alfred Morris ran for 29 yards rushing.
NFL Season 2014 Week 3: Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, September 21, 4:25 PM, CenturyLink Field
This was a very exciting game between two great teams who met in the super bowl last year. The result would be a lot different then the 43-8 final that took place in the super bowl. Seattle started the game off fast and had a 17-3 lead at halftime. The Broncos seemed to be thinking here we go again, but then things started to turn into Denver’s favor early in the fourth quarter when they forced a Seahawks safety. That would make the score 17-5 and Peyton Manning was just getting started. He then led the Broncos on a long touchdown drive to cut the lead to 17-12. Neither team would score for a few minutes until the Seahawk’s field goal late in the game to take an eight point lead.
That would leave Peyton Manning with one more chance to lead his team down the field and tie the game. That is exactly what he did and the game went into overtime tied at 20 a piece. The Seahawks would get the ball to start the overtime, and they would go on an 80 yard drive to win the game on a touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch of 6 yards. The final score of this game would be 26-20 Seahawks over the Broncos in a thriller.
NFL Season 2014 Week 2: Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers on Sunday, September 14, 4:05 PM in Qualcomm Stadium
On Sunday, 14th September at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, California many including myself were astonished when Chargers crashed Seahawks by beating them 30 – 21. Although Seahawks defense is known to be very tight, Chargers managed good total offensive of 377 yards with the help of Philip Rivers who contributed immensely. Below are some of the useful tactics Chargers used.
Chargers effectively controlled the game tempo by ensuring they had possession. They had a time possession of 42:15 to 17:45. They also controlled the ball well in a keep-away tactic that enabled them to milk away the time cleverly. Seahawks players like Russell Wilson were kept well on the sidelines thus reducing their attacking capability.
Some of the players who stood out well were Frank Reich and Rivers. Frank Reich coordinated the offensive while Rivers coordinated the execution of no-huddle offensive. Chargers developed several fake formations that helped them to identity Seahawks defensive strategies and loopholes. Seahawks passive defenses enabled the Chargers to play the inside-zone moves. Sometimes Chargers using Danny Woodhead moved with no formations thus confusing the defense. Reich deserves the crown of masterminding most of the tactics. He was the one who started the tactic of exploiting the loopholes of the opponent’s defenses. Their best offensive put the ball on the net from 21 yards. Reich was also involved in 3×1 formations that terrorized the opponent’s defenses.
NFL Season 2014 Week 1: Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, September 4, 8:30 PM, CenturyLink Field
Pharrell Williams made a kick off of the pregame events. Green Bay Packers made their way to Seattle on Thursday evening with hopes of eventually upsetting the recent champions. The game was also accompanied by favorable weather. Unified noise was utilized by the 12th man so as to create disruptions.
Aaron Rodgers who is a Green Bay quarterback is among the best quarterbacks in the game. He made an initial impact on the game by his offensive weapons which make strategy so much important and therefore execution is necessary. Russell Wilson, a Seattle quarterback expressed his mature nature of decision making in the game. He had multiple scoring opportunities due to his ability to move in the pocket. Matchup problems were created by running back Marshawn Lynch due to consistent breaking of tackles.
Pride and hunger are rekindled by motivation. The game’s outcome can also be affected by play calling. Momentum is created by challenges thus giving players a chance to have the final say. The teams also end up outplaying each other. Low scoring games are produced traditionally by matchups of prestige that feature teams balanced on both sides of the ball. The script was eventually changed by Seattle. This makes Green Bay continue struggling against NFC West. Playoff dreams get ruined by major injuries.
The Seattle Seahawks had an impressive season in 2013
There is no denial to the fact that Seattle Seahawks are a great team. Not only did they go 11-5 last season, but were also seen heavily overshadowing their opponents late this season. The credit goes to none other than the coach Pete Carroll and their front office for drafting such players that led to enhanced performance of the team. However, the Seattle Seahawks phenomenal rise this season can be much attributed to Russell Wilson.
Russell, the young and dynamic quarterback appeared good on the field as well as payroll. He is merely a year old into the four year deal at $3 million. 2013 saw Seahawks adding defensive linemen Cliff Avril and corner Antoine Winfield to form a relatively stronger and more closely knit defense than the previous season. Their only mistake had been hiring Percy Harvin who was out of the season for his hip surgery.
Offense:
Seattle Seahawks averaged just a shade over 3 big run plays and nearly 5 big pass plays per game in 2013 season. This adds up to a total of 8 big plays each game on offence. This is quite a respectable score although it could have undoubtedly been much higher if the offences had performed better during the final quarter of the season. They averaged at 9 big plays through initial 12 games but could manage only four, five, five and three big plays in the last four games. What could have happened if they had kept the big plays average that they managed during the first 12 games is anybody’s guess.
Each Seahawk player had at least one explosive play this season. Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate both had a large share of explosive catches from Russell Wilson with nearly half of the big passing plays from him going to either of them.
Defense:
Seattle defence finished seventh in the 2013 season with a 25.8% DVOA. The team led the following categories of defense:
– Total passing yardage allowed
– Total yardage allowed
– Opponent scoring efficiency percentage
– Scoring defense
– Interceptions and interception rate.
– Takeaways
– Touch downs allowed
– Yardage after catch allowed.
Seattle Seahawks emerged as the team that allowed least number of explosive plays. They allowed merely 5 big plays per game out of which only 3 were big passes and the rest of the 2 were big runs. Seattle Seahawks also had the best defense against explosive passes. The team that stood next is Cincinnati which allowed 9 more big pass plays than them.
According to the coach, Pete Carroll, when the team restricts its opponents to 3 or less big plays in a game, they give up an average of 8 points in those games. The 2013 season saw Seattle Seahawks not very far from reaching those numbers.
